Saw his name come up in teh Chickenfoot thread, on a list of top 5 drummers in rock.
Now whether he is or not, he is still a cool dude who deserves some props.
Anyone who can play drums behind Dave Grohl and hold his own and then to get up in front of Page, JPJ and Grohl to sing Rock & Roll to a sold-out Wembley Stadium has both talent and BIG COJONES in my book. He did a fine job of the singing too, IMHO.

He played all the drums on Coheed & Cambria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coheed_and_Cambria)'s "No World For Tomorrow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Apollo,_I%27m_Burning_Star_IV,_Volume_Two:_No _World_for_Tomorrow)" as well, an awesome progressive rock concept album, part of a larger concept.

Last time I hit the road out of LAX I saw him and his wife chasing their baby all over the terminal. He looked like a guy who loved being a dad that day. Good times.

Gotta say - as kick-ass as Taylor is (I think he's a great drummer) - I've seen him side-by-side w/Grohl playing the exact same FF songs (I swear) and could not believe the difference in power, volume, and kick-ass-ness (I know that's not a word!). Dave needs to get behind the kit more often IMHO - he kills every drummer out there!

Not a dis to Taylor - he's a cool guy & a ridiculously rockin' drummer. Dave just owns it.

I'm not gonna argure wiht that. To me, Dave Grohl is a no-brainer shoo-in to replace Bonham, especially since he learnt to play by listengin to Bonham for hours on end and has the 3 ring Bonham insignia tattoo-ed all over his body. He has the power !!
DG got on the drums obviously, while Taylor sang R&R at Wembley. What a band for Hawkins to sing in front of !! I really think that took a lot of balls.
