Has anybody tried the Weber DT 10 speakers? From what I remember, they are modeled after the Pyle Driver speakers that Derek Trucks uses, and are sold only by Lord Valve. Is this correct?
I'd love to hear what they sound like.

sorry I can't help but maybe you've read that now Derek uses these in both his Supers if I remember correctly. So if you've been to a dTb concert recenetly (within the past couple years) you've probably heard them.

I love Dereks tone, that's why I'm interested. I'm curious if others have tried them too,
and want to get their opinions as well.

Just installed 4 of them in my 66 Super Reverb. I live just down the road from Lord Valve, who sells them exclusively, and IMHO there is no better speaker available. I'm not even a Derek Trucks fan, I play a Strat into a Super, and these speakers are the best I've heard.

Hi folks

Im bumping this old thread rather than creating a new one with the exact same subject.

Weber now sells the DT-10 speaker from their own website.

I currently have four weber CTA10 speakers in my old super reverb however, Im considerating to replace one or two of them with a ceramic speaker. I don't want it to overpower the other ones so Im thinking about the CTC10 or possibly this DT-10 speaker.

Has anybody tried the DT-10 speakers?

Cheers,
Thin Slices

Not that I know of. But weber sells the DT-10 and DT-12 from their site.

I have 10 videos on YouTube with my Super Reverb sporting DT-10s, Lord Valve rebuilt the SR for me.

I haven't tried the DT-10, but I went from four CTA10s, tried swapping two for two CTC10s, then finally settled on two CTC10s and two EVM-10Ms. To my ear, the CTCs overpowered the CTAs, and the CVCs didn't blend with the CTAs either. The DT-10 sounds like a great speaker...depending entirely on what sound you are going for that the CTA10s weren't giving you. What are you aiming for?

I put a pair in my Vibrolux Reverb recently and am pretty impressed so far. The VR is a '68 and has always had (what I believed could be original) Utah 10's in it. Always liked the Utahs (really, I do) but wanted to see what else I could coax out of the amp. Interestingly, the DT-10s are somewhat similar to the tone I get with the Utahs. A bit more mid-focus, but good bottom with a pleasant top, too. Nice tones both clean and dirty. Once they relax a little after break-in, I think they'll be pretty special.

FWIW...I love Derek's tone, but am not trying to replicate that tone.

Really nice tone there! Got to try those speakers one day. Do you like them for rhythm? And non slide work?

Thanks- I mostly play slide, fill-ins. But will shoot another vid with my strat in standard tuning instead of open E, and I'm sure it'll pull off some great rythm amplification.

I have a 65 Super Reverb w/cts alnicos, and I'm thinking of throwing 2 of these in to get some more 'break up'.
