Now that I have gotten more familliar with Albert King's music, it makes me realize just how much SRV borrowed from him. Don't get me worng, SRV took it a huge step further, but he sounds a lot like Albert. Thats why it bugs me when people claim this guy or that guy just sounds like a predecessor. John Mayer is a good example. Everyone learns from hearing other people and then hopefully they incorporate some of theri own personality in to it.

I remember when I first found these sessions on youtube, I watched and played with them over and over.

My favorite is Matchbox Blues and the stories Albert tells throughout all the songs, seems like a real cool guy. It's got to be scary as hell playing with him though...

The Albert King/SRV recording is sick on SACD. A must own if you have the technology.
