Toadies Possum Kindom break chords HELP

I have a mental block.

WTF is going with the with the break after the second chorus at 2:30- 3:11 into the song? The bass line against the chords is throwing me off.

The "give it up to me" part? I think it's like this:

A - G#7 - C#7
give it up to me

A/F#* - G#7 - C#7
give it up to me

D7 - G#7 - C#7 - B
do you wanna be my angel

repeat 3x, then

A - F#m
so help me jesus

* - the bass plays the F#, I think the guitar is just playing an A.

I think they're 7ths the first two times when it's quiet, but might just be power chords the final time when it gets loud. I should add that I was sitting at the dining room table last night with an unplugged strat trying to remember how it went - I couldn't get loud enough to really be certain it was right.
