Hey guys - not sure if this has been done yet, but I could not find it through searching. For redundancy purposes feel free to just send a link to the thread if so.
What are everyone's internal settings on their King of Tone? I'm using the stock clean/left, od/right, and I have the treble booster knob set fairly high. I'm interested how you get great sounds from yours.

Stock DIP switch settings here (yellow - boost, red - OD). Treble boost at factory spec as well (off). This is what I've been at lately:
Yellow:
Level - 3 oclock
Drive - noon
Tone - noon
Red:
Level - 1 oclock
Drive - 2 oclock
Tone - 1 oclock
This yields me some great tones into an already overdriven amp (think Keith Richards tone from the amp). I get a thick lead tone from the red side, and an AMAZING thick clean boost on the yellow. Great combined. I've had my KOT for about 2 months or so now - and I haven't even veered off the factory settings yet. There is so MUCH available in that configuration.

I use the stock dip setting, treble boosted just a hair on the red and a wee bit more than a hair on the clean boost.
I have been running the red gain almost cranked and can get plenty of distortion, it is heavily sensitive to my playing, so I have so dig in hard and it does a great fuzz. Not really, but it's liberating to not have to use so much gain.

Can't believe there are only 4 KOT users on this board;)
Red side
v-unity
d-3 o'clock
t-1 o'clock
yellow side
v-unity
d-3 o'clock
t- 12 o'clock
I'm currently using the TIMMY for a boost. But wondering how other KOT/TIMMY owners are using both these pedals?

I hope to have one next week sometime. Just got the magic email last week. Also ordered one of his new double delay pedals. Can't wait to try them all with my new Super Reverb head and my existing Princeton Verb combo.........should be sweet all the way around....
Figures I don't have any gigs til later in the month :(
I hear the KoT sounds best at gig volume levels.

Mine's got the high gain option on the red side and my settings change regularly and depending on which band/amp/type of music I'm playing, but currently it's been mostly strat into drri, KOT stock on the inside
Red:
Volume: 1-2:00
Gain: 1-3:00 - maxed if I need a little more or I'm playing slide
Tone: 2-3:00
Yellow:
Volume: 1:00
Gain: 3:00
Tone: 1:00

I just got to the top of the waiting list and got mine. I'm floored. This is the only TS/"mid-hump"-type pedal that I've liked -- not too much nasal bloat and way more dynamic than all the TS variants I've tried. I know, it's not a TS. That must be why I like it. :D
I got the High Gain option on both sides, which was probably overkill. I'm not sure I need it on any side but they're there. I haven't played with the internal dips yet. I'm playing into a souped-up Princeton Reverb.
YELLOW

RED

For me, the real real jaw dropper was slamming the KoT with a Throbak Overdrive Boost set as a Si Fuzz. Holy Crap!!! That is one BIG, snarling, touch-sensitive yet screaming tone.
I figured I'd pair the KoT with my Beano and/or SunFace (I'm such a shameless AM fanboy). Both sound great with the KOT, but Throbak ODB-KoT combo is just otherworldly -- OBD for crunchy rhythm, KoT for fattening single notes, OBD>KoT for getting noticed.

Hi,
I am happy to share my favorite settings but with the following caviats:
I am giving you my settings when using a Nocaster (single coils) into a Fender 6V6, BF style circuit turned up quite loud (just where if I really dig in without KOT I will begin to OD the amp).
My goal in the settings of both channels is to be able to generate a warm, clean sound without having to adjust my guitar's volume if I pick lightly and to enhance how far I can make my amp OD when I dig in.
The pedal dip switches are in factory mode (yellow=boost and red=OD)
A different guitar, amp, amp volume and tonal goal will negate my settings
Yellow Channel Settings: These settings provide some warmth and fattening of my clean tone as well as some extension in the amount of OD I can generate.
V=3 o'clock
T=1 o'clock
D=12 o'clock
Red Channel Settings: These settings, while somewhat similar to my yellow settings get you into the same leve of OD you get with a hard pick on the yellow channel with a medium pick. Obviously, when I dig in their is more OD to have.
V=1 to 2 o'clock
T=1 o'clock
D=3 to4 o'clock
Forgeting the specific settings, I can tell you some truisms with KOT
You need to use it as an extension of your amp in my view. Your amp should be cooking pretty loud if you expect KOT to really work wonders.
Whether using the boost or the OD you need to set the pedal's volume setting slightly or well above parity volume without it. Obviously, as you adjust drive up or down, you need to ensure this with the volume.
Don't be afraid to adjust the pots inside to alter the tone, once you find a configuration and drive setting with your guitar/amp.
As Analog Mike always says...HAVE FUN!

I've actually been messing with mine a bit lately...
right this minute it's like so...
Both sides set to distortion, both gains near full up volume on the red just above unity if Im using buckers, the yellow volume is just above unity if Im using singles and the tone and treble trimmer on the yellow channel are set higher than the red channel to bring out the sparkle in my Strat. This set up is great for having 2 stand alone heavy OD sounds for both a Strat and a Les Paul in one pedal...
