View Full Version : So now that I have a few pedals to take to a jam...

I think I want to get some kind of snake. My (3) pedals have been to one jam so far. It was a bit of a drag running the wires and cables.

I think what I'd like is a 15-20 ft power bar and audio cable in one. I think I want to make it myself.

I'm thinking if I run two separate cables for the audio, put the ground on one and the signal on the other, it should be uber low capacitance, since the distance between the conductors is much greater than if they were in the same cable. It's still be shielded, but the shoeld wouldn't be grounded...thsi would maybe give me the same sound I have at home with a 2' GL running from my delay into my amp.

Ideally I'd like to run 10 guage for the signal to keep the strength as high as possible and shield it myself.

Any of this make any sense? Anyone done something like this?

I haven't tried anything like THAT.
I did make a 9v power pack with 8 AA batteries that will fit on the end of my daisy chain when it is not convinient to use a AC cord.

8 AA batteries make a 12volt source.6 make a 9 volt source.Try using D cells and you will be amazed at how long they last.

I'm using rechargable AAs and they are 1.25v each, which adds up to 10v. D's would be too big.
