Hi,
I have a Grosh Retro classic with Grosh Fat 60's pup in the bridge. I'm thinking of replacing it with Seymour JB Jr.
Please share your experience with the JB jr pups in a bridge of strat type guitar.
Thanks!

Wow... for a minute I thought this was a post in the buy & sell emporium... and I would say, yeah... take that trade, give that guy a pup for that guitar. Phew.
But, so I don't completely waste your time... I did have a JB jr. in the middle position of a Klein and matched well with the Holdsworth position in the bridge... sounded very close in lots of ways...

Grosh's have a swimming pool route. I would recommend ordering a new pick guard from grosh and installing a full size humbucker. I never cared for the single coil sized buckers, really diddnt like the mini JB. Many more pickup options if you go the full size route also.
Alternately you could forgo the blend feature and wire the 2nd tone control for the bridge only. Back off the tone on the bridge single and hit it with a boost/overdrive to get something much closer to a humbucker. Depends what kind of sound you are looking for.
Aloha, Rob.
