Hands down, my all time favorite "decompress" album. Great at the end of "one of those" days.

It is also the best selling Jazz album of all time.

Fabulous. The trumpet player inside of me always resents myself for not always being able to milk that kind of simplicity from my horn.

Actually, come to think of it... the musician inside of me always resents myself for not always being able to milk that kind of simplicity from any instrument I play.

BTW, Ashley Kahn wrote a great book deailing the recording of KOB. It boiled down to a few hours of recording over two (?) nights. It inlcudes photos that show scraps of paper on music stands with modes written out, between take chatter, pay stubs;

The book made it equal parts more human and more super human to me at the same time.
