Hi guys,
I'm having a hard choosing between 2 strats...
first one is a John cruz '59 heavy relic
and the other one is a vinetto '60
The vinetto is a bit less expensive but no huge difference...
Now i wanna know what's the best choice is value/tone/versatility/that vintage feel/sound...
give me your opinion!
thanks, Robby

I have had many Strats (however, not a John Cruz) over a 30 year period. This would include many of the high end makers found in these pages as well as a nice vintage Fender 1965. At one time I had 5 of these great guitars along with my DC55, blonde swamp ash. I ended up passing on all but one of my Strats but one. Left standing? The Vinetto for me! (Though how I wish I had them all back!)

I've had much the same experience with teles. Vince makes a great guitar!

i'm sure vince makes excellent guitars because yeah he's vince cunetto right :)

Having owned/owning both, as with most guitars it simply depends on the individual guitar. The better masterbuilts can be better than Vinetto's and vice versa. John Cruz is generally considered one of the masters who can produce a superior instrument. If you can't play them side by side, either is a gamble on "best" but both should be very good.
From a relic perspective, it gets a little more interesting....given equally convincing aging, any relic'd non-Fender is going to look like a 50 year old "Something That Didn't Exist 50 Years Ago" while the aged Fender will be essentially indistinguishable from the real thing. Perhaps that's important to you, perhaps not. It's a separate thing from tone or playability, but significant to some.

I know Fender used to simply paint over existing sunbursts in the early days but I don't think I've seen a relic copy of that before....:
