Hi I have recently bought an amp from the USA and i live in the UK .
Its a gattone louis amplifier and I have had some good advice so far on step down transformers but its just the total consumption i need i understand .
on the amp it doesnt say what its max power in watts it will use form a power point . I need to find this out as i have to use a step down transformer and need to know if the 300watt transformer will work and not burn out with this amp.
The gattone is a 40 watt 2x10 speakers amp and all hand wired , I have a 57 tweed twin 2x 12 speakers which is also a 40 watt and its total power it uses is 270watts now i take it if i needed to i could use a 300w transformer on the twin the transformer would work fine ( I dont need to do this as its make for the UK voltage ) But as these amps have the same 40 watt out put am i right in thinking the gattone wont exceed the twins consumption power of 270watts . This way i can get a 300watt transformer to use with the gattone. I would really appreciate some more help on this subject Thanks LD.
