I have a cut capo and it works great on my 3 acoustics but it sounds terrible on my 3 electrics. Anyone have any insight into this?

If it's the kyser style capo that is pretty typical.

I think it has to do with the radius curve of the neck, bending the strings as the capo locks in tight. I found the same thing with whatever capo I used to use. Now I use a G7 (or whatever they are called) and it works great.

Yes it is a kyser style. Hmm bummer.
So does the G7th have one that is a cut style capo?
Or any other capo manufacturer out there that does a cut style that puts less pressure on or has adjustable pressure?

I don't know what cut syle means, so I don't know. I do know that when I was looking for a new capo that didn't do the bad string thing, I talked to a GC person who I knew performed accoustically all the time, and she said that the G7th was the only one she's tried that worked well on every guitar she put it on. I have had the same experience on electrics from Gibson and Fender, and accoustic necks - and I have the 12-string version for my 12, and it works perfectly on all of them.
There are probably other good ones, but I stopped there.

Cut capo only holds down 3 strings to get immediate DADGAD tuning actually with the capo you get it in the key of E or Eb, very convenient. I don't actually have too many issues with a full capo across (I guess since they are all relative in tune to each other)
