Hello,

If any of you have some expertise in Tweed prices, I'd like your feedback on how much a Tweed Twin is / should be going for today?

For instance, this one http://www.gbase.com/gear/fender-twin-amp-1959-tweed is going for $8500, but it only has one original speaker (reconed), the original tweed is gone, the handle's been replaced, the name plate is gone, and most of the caps have been switched out.

Curious to get your thoughts. Thanks!

Mike Teepe(the proprietor) is a long time acquaintance. He is about right on the retail price of that Twin...many in lesser condition that would go for 5K-7K$.

Impossibly rare, I have seen a nice-nice one sell for $14k and some change, been a couple years.

That one is actually like buying a lesser one, and having it serviced/recovered. They are something else.

I like Mike, he's experienced.

The price is about right for what you would find in a store, considering all of it's alterations.

Why bump? Are you looking for a different answer?

Why not bump? I would like to hear from others who may have purchased a Tweed Twin in recent times. Is that OK with you?

If I was thinking of spending $8500 dollars (and not getting a GSX-R in return) I'd want as many opinions as I could possibly get ;) Free bump!

There's a few guys out there that are willing to pay rediculous fee's for tweed twins

(Clapton, Richards) I'm sure there are others. It drives the prices up. Such is the vintage gear market. It all hinges on supply & demand
