elvis costello question?

I saw this elvis costello performance on tv years ago and at or near the end he played a song using his guitar and a tape recorder playing it and stopping it on time between playing the guitar. it was really cool and Ive been looking for it ever since. cant remember what channel it was on or what special it was. but he only had his guitar, no band. I figured my chances are fair that someone on here saw this and can remember what show it was on so I can better look for it online. Ive been looking since before the original napster got shut down with no luck.
