So, I've been considering buying a Fender Blues Junior. Over the years, I've read posts where people say that they feel that the Made In Mexico version of the amp actually sounds better than ones that are Made in USA.

Could anybody tell me from a layman's point of view, what the differences are between the two? Any opinions or pros and cons of one versus the other would be very much appreciated. Also, are there certain years of production that are preferred and other years of production to steer clear of?

I have heard that the ones with the green circuit board have more of a blues or darker tone but need the Bill M mods to make them more usable along with other Bill M mods for Blue Jr's in general. The tan board tends to give more of a surfer tone. I will PM you too.

I just sold my greenboard a few weeks ago. They are darker, which is a good thing to me, though a little noisier in some cases. There were design changes making it brighter and quieter.
