I have it installed in my guitar for a while, but about 6 months ago I got some new pickups put in and the shop reqired it back to Modern (or something, but it did not match the RS 50's diagram from their vintage kit). Today I want to change it back, and dang if I cannot find the printout that RS sent with the kit. I searched around the RS site and I couldn't seem to find it there, and searching here brings up a zillion hits :)
Can anyone help me out or point to an equivalent wiring diagram?
Thanks
Steve

Is it the same as the 50's style wiring from this page (4th one down from the top)
http://www.dominocs.com/AshBassGuitar/WireLibrary-Gibson.html
Crazy question, how do you know which is the wire from the pickup and which is the wire from the selector if they are both the same braided wire? (I guess I could tug the wire from the switch hole or use a DMM and touch the hot leads with the volume rolled all the way to zero to fid it?)
Thanks
Steve

yep, "'50s" wiring without the "independent volume controls" is what you're looking for.
the only real difference though, is the tone cap being moved from the input volume lug to the middle (output) volume lug. there's no need to re-do the tone pot part of it.
you can test with the meter set to ohms: one lead will be anywhere from 500k to shorted depending on where the switch and other volume knob is set (or open if they're not connected) and the other will be the resistance of the pickup).
(i like those diagrams! the "black rose" one is like two tele circuits, and the master + two tone controls is what i use on my gibsons.)
