Hi Guys,

maybe some of you can help me. How do I set the intonation at the bridge of a guitar equipped with Buzz Feiten system? Anything I can do with a normal digital tuner?

Thanks in advance for the help

Paolo

If your tuner reads in cents, you can. Peterson virtual strobes for one. The KORG DT-7 has the BFTS offsets built in, it has a normal and BFTS switch, along with and open string and 12th fret switch to accomplish it.
I have the offsets somewhere, I'll check back or you can try a PM to get my attention.

I got the Peterston strobe tuner program for my Macbook and I just use my laptop & recording interface to do setup intonation. It has the Buzz Feiten offsets in it and works great, and it is pretty cost effective for a strobe tuner.

Without a tuner, which has a "preset" for BFTS You can just set intonation "standard way" using 2/14 or 3/15 frets instead open/12.

Thanks for your answer, it looks inetresting. What do you mean exactly? Whichstrings should I use 2/14 and which 3/15?

thanks again

It's just as easy as it gets :)
Tune strings while fretting at 2nd (or 3rd) fret.
Then while setting up the intonation for each string:
compare string fretted at 2nd (or 3rd) with fretted at 14th (or 15th fret respectively).

If You tune/intonate in that way, You'll take the BFTS nut offset out of the equation. The only difference to guitar without BFTS will be the open strings, which will be slightly out of tune. If You play a lot with open string I suggest to get a tuner which can do BFTS tuning (Strobostomp, Turbo Tuner, maybe Pitchblack+ can be programmed to do it too).

a ca-30 just isn't going to be accurate enough. it will get you in the ballpark for tuning, but trying to intonate to within 1 cent will be a lost cause.

You can also adjust the bridge normally, without the BF offsets.
