Very non-stereotypically Hornsby. I really like it. It was a big chance, probably didn't sell well, but I love the grooves on that record! Anyone?

Man, I haven't heard anything from Bruce since the first couple of albums he did that were big. I would love to hear what he is doing now. Such a talented guy.

Dude, you've got 20 years worth of great music to catch up on!

Pick up the Noismakers Live CD to start with. If you like music, you won't regret it. He always brings it live and you truly never know what you'll get. Bruce can go from be-bop to bluegrass in the same jam and his band is right there with him. He's insanely talented, and keeps getting better. :dude

One of the fondest memories I can recall is when my cousin used to live next door to his place in Williamsburg. Bruce and the guys would get together and you could hear what they were doing. It was great.

He used to show up occassionally at the Tobacco Co. club in Richmond and just jam with some of the musicians. Great guy, and an AWESOME musician.

I just read that Hornsby is going to be on Jay Leno's new show on Thursday Sept 17 with Eric Clapton as his special guest...

I just heard a cut from his newest album. Restored my faith in the man. As good or better than anything he's done in many years.

Great news and quite unexpected (new album, that is -- not that it is good)!! Clips can be found here :

I really like jazz CD called Camp Meeting he did with Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette (it has even Giant Steps on it). Also, Munck Music has live CDs/dowloads of recent concerts. The Solo Shows I have are really great!

And the same year he made that he did a great bluegrass record with Ricky Scaggs. Bruce is a musician that has range.

I think the guy's a very under appreciated mega-talent. JMHO.

Thanks for the recommendation. Not sure why he fell off my radar screen, but I have always liked him, and I mostly listen to jazz these days.

Then live Bruce should be right up your ally! Go to Sammo's link and download 10/9/04 (Charlotte). That was one of te best concerts I've ever heard from anybody.
