Pod XT running through effects loop. weakened signal. Please help.

I am not exactly sure where to post this thread. I recently bought a peavey ultra and am now running my podxt and a few other pedals through the effects loop. However, the signal is weakened alot compared to when I play straight through the amp. For instance when I use my wah, the sound totally changes and the pedal serves more as a volume boost than a wah. I am also getting alot of static if I use a distortion pedal on top of the Ultras crunch or ultra gain channel. I am not sure what the problem is, the amp or the xt. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You're just using the pod as a pedalboard, right?

In that case, make sure that your other pedals are in front of it, and make sure that you have the line volume turned up enough.
