"The serial number dates this USA Strat to 1993. The previous owner decided to relic the body with some form of heat. (I think he went a bit over-board, but I'll let you decide)."

I think he sniffed a bit too much of that hot poly and and it went straight to his head?!

Whenever I see something awful like this, it's always been done by "the previous owner." Kinda like when guys are selling gear because their wife is making them. :)

It's good that he didn't overdo it.

Personally, I would have done a little more work on the pickguard, which doesn't seem to have been subjected to quite as much "aging".

Three piece body separating due to too much fire.

Oh, c'mon. Everybody on this board would give their left nut to play Jimi's burned Monterey Strat. This guitar is just a homage to that one.
Or not. :)

I must say i love Charcoal Frost on a guitar. but bonfire charcoal is not really my thing...
Hmm... maybe thats a good idea for a new Tyler color. the burning water and the burning bonfire?
Maybe not....

That's Fender's latest finish called "Toasted Marshmellow".

Absolutely stunning. Do you think he'll get $399?
I don't think he wanted to "relic" it in the first place.
Looks like he tried to strip the finish with a heat gun and found it was too much work.

Yes, it's hilarious that "the previous owner" did this to it, but "I" still bought it from Him like this, WHY?
I donīt know... Iīm visualizing, you can kind of get the same result with a camp fire and loads of booze...

A road worn looks like its been molested by cruel people with sandpaper. This however looks like someone raped the guitar and tried to dispose of the body by burning it in a barrel out in the desert...

How much work would it be to strip the body of the rest of the poly? I mena if you could pick it up for like 300 bucks and put in the time to strip off the rest of the poly, then nitro it you might have a decent player when all is said and done. I would buy it for 200 bucks and part it out if I could not repair the body.

Seems like a lot of work doesn't it?
Seriously, if you guys could only see some of the butchery out there you'd be absolutely horrified. Believe it or not...I've seen worse than this.

So in 20 years the finish on my guitar will burn off?

We're all playing time bombs :D
hmm.. Could be... Maybe Jimi Hendrix didnīt burn his guitar...Maybe he just reached a point of excellency, or played such a hot lick that the hole damn thing just went up in flames...
Good theory if I have to say it myself. Despite the videoclips showing him pouring lighter fluid on it... although, the videoclips could have been tampered with, and it could all be a conspiracy. Is there a reason the govenment donīt want us to know that we can set fire to things through excellency? is there......Im gonna shut my self up right now...Im ashamed of some of the things I say...:facepalm
Man, that cat butt is gonna haunt me tonight...
