Does it exist? Does anything come close?

Are you an avid Electric Wizard fan? If not, I wouldn't bother. It really doesn't sound very nice at all, it just gets big and fat and ugly. Not really in a good way either!

I'm an Electric Wizard fan and I love the heavy, ugly, sludgy fuzz it makes. How can you say that's not good? ;)

Quite a lot of that sound is the Sound City 120 heads turned all the way up.
My buddy bought one to run through his Sperbass and doesn't think it sounds very good either.

yes you probably wouldnt want to run that Fuzz into a bigg clean amp .......... if you amp isnt fairly dirty you might try the Fuzz into an over drive .... or even just a graphic EQ after to reshape it for public consumption ;)

My first pedals was a clone of it- behringer Super Fuzz... I would recommend not buying it!

Regardless of anything else, the clean boost on the pedal is amazing.

I had one briefly before I actually got into fuzz; as far as I'm concerned, that second fuzz mode is Big Muff-inspired.

clean boost on the pedal is amazing.Hey, I thought it was just me ~ but that mode's actually VERY USEFUL for goosing booteek "amp-like" overdrives like the HoneyBee... Also handy for kicking the living sh!t outa my old single channel amps!I had one briefly before I actually got into fuzzS'funny, I discovered this pedal quite recently, and I've been into fuzz since 1969, when I bought my first pedal, a Colorsound.
Like DonneR says, not a good choice for hi-fi apps, but plugged into a small amp with well burned-in (out?) tubes & a blown speaker, you can get some ungodly sound from this thing.
Another discontinued pedal for the ages - Paid next to nothing for mine, but it's a keeper, for sure.

Don’t take this in the wrong tone, but why look for a clone? They regularly appear on Ebay, and prices drop up and down fairly regularly.
Within the past year, I got a like new one for $105.

This. I got my FZ-2 for about $75 (three years ago). I can't imagine you'd be saving much money by buying a clone. Unless Behringer makes one.

I've had one since the 90's. They do sound nasty, but as you say, that's what we love about them. The FZ-2 also does a decent job with a bass.
