The band doesn't have to play a single note until they walk on stage and start the actual show. :)

Judging by the last time I saw them I'd add:

And then the band doesn't play a single song correctly during the actual show.

There's no point, all the gear is exactly the same as the previous night. Mics are left on the drums, cabs etc. Same monitor system, to the band it's exactly the same.

Drum checker is pretty splashy with the cymbals. Still...a cool job!

McCartney still does his soundchecks himself,

The guys actually used to do "crew band" gigs on tour.

If I wanted to hear a song verbatum,I'd play the CD..I love it when bands play it differently,or 'wrong'...Thats what LIVE music is all about for me...

Sound Check guys... Are they full time employees or contract? Anyone?

That's the backline crew... the guy with the LP is Pierre DeBeauport, he's the crew chief. That's a tour crew, but some handful of guy/s is required for whenever the guys in the band (usually guitar players) appear or play somewhere, from "official" stuff to sitting in. The same for every major act.

The guy playing bass is Ken Fallon. An excellent luthier that now lives in the Boston area specializing in vintage acoustics. Formerly Sadowsky's right hand man in the 90's. He has been the bass/guitar tech for the last couple years of world tour. We used to gig together in the 80's. Great guy, great player. I have a pic he sent a while back of him, Keef & the guys with Waylon's old Tele. I told him the pic made him look 20 years younger!!! I'll try to dig it up and post it. Those guys carry around 250 guitars and an insane amount of original tweed high power Twins on tour with them. Why? because they can.......
