Curious as I have a bunch of speakers in storage now and have seen it done both ways. Thanks.

Guitar speaker suspensions are so stiff I don't think anything settles or moves while the speaker is sitting around. The only thing I can think of is to protect the cone from accidental damage. Some folks tie wrap a piece of cardboard over the cone. You can also tie wrap two speakers together, face to face. I keep the boxes my new speakers come in and keep the ones I've saving in the boxes. Mostly cone facing down although EMI does this pour foam thing around the magnet so the cone faces up.

Cone facing down here, preferably in a double-walled cardboard box so they can be stacked without worry. I line the bottom of the box with a continuous piece of cardboard so the gasket doesn't press on any seams or overlaps. Overkill maybe but it makes me feel good. Much as I'd like to just hang em all on a wall...

I just loosely bolt pairs together cone to cone in storage, otherwise magnet up to protect the cone.

I have shelves of them with the cone facing down, magnet up, and with the cones facing each other when stacked. I also store them in boxes, stacked 8 high in an alternating fashion so that the cones are facing each other (works well on shelves that way, too.).
Yes, I have that many speakers in my place...
