Hi everybody,

Well the thread title says it all. I'm looking for a cutaway classical guitar, preferably with built-in eq and tuner. The neck has to have more the feel of an electric guitar, if you know what I mean. A little more curved, not too wide.

I know Taylor makes nylon-strungs more geared towards the electric player but I don't want to spend that much. Budget is around 600-700 euros (around 900-1000 usd).

Thanks,

Robert

You can get a nylon stringed Chet Atkins guitar for that price used in the USA, not certain about europe. Think early Dave Matthews.

Thanks, but that model doesn't have have much volume as it is practically a solid-body guitar. I want some volume too when I'm playing unplugged, so to speak.

Godin and Ovation are both worth checking.

I just purchased a Yamaha NTX 1200R on the strength of two different reviews in Guitarist magazine. The more in-depth write-up was in June 09 issue (Tony Iommi on the cover) and a follow up review in a later issue. Based on those reviews plus a couple of videos. The latest CD (11:11) from Rodrigo y Gabriela has a separate DVD included where they talk about this new model from Yamaha. They have a couple of models in a lower price range and one high end model. The NTX has a radius narrower neck while the NCX series has the more traditional classical neck.

I purchased mine from Woodwind and Brasswind.
