I think the joke had it's manifestations in an old Guitar World interview. He talked about taking a urinal out of the bathroom so that he had room for a recording machine and a guitar, because he never knew when inspiration was going to strike, and he wanted to be able to get ideas down...
I was in between getting my daughter back to bed when I saw him on the TV. Turned the volume up just in time.

I think I read that as well, perhaps back in '97? The infamous "Who The F*ck Is Eddie Van Halen" t-shirt on the cover if I remember correctly. I think that was the same article where he was gushing over Gary Cherone, how this guy was it, he was like a brother, blah blah blah.

Not much of a cameo, I was expecting a little more. I'm kind of disappointed.

I don't get why people say he looks bad. He's 50 and looks fit to me.

He does look good for his early 50's though I think he shoud grow his hair back at least shoulder length. I don't care for his Balance look per say. My dad was watching it last night and said he wouldn't have recognized that was Ed.

Legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen (http://www.starpulse.com/Music/Van_Halen,_Eddie/) is recovering after undergoing surgery on his injured hand. The Van Halen (http://www.starpulse.com/Music/Van_Halen/) star sought out specialists after the pain he first experienced in two of his fingers at the end of the band's last tour, worsened.
The experts initially suspected arthritis, but then diagnosed a bone spur, twisted tendon and a cyst in the joint of his left thumb.
He tells RollingStone.com, "During the last leg of our tour, I started developing pain in my thumb and my pinky. I didn't think much of it at the time. It got progressively worse to the point that about three months ago, I wasn't able to play at all. My pinky and my thumb were totally locked up and felt like there was something broken. They said the only way to fix it was surgery, which of course scared the s--t out of me, but I was told it was the only way to fix it."
Speaking after the operation, Van Halen (http://www.thegearpage.net/board/#) hailed it a "success", adding, "Now I just have to let it heal. I am totally jazzed that they found the problem, fixed it and in about four months my hand will feel like I am 18 again. Thank God."
I thought it was great to see him in good health and playing the guitar
What's up with the bridge of that guitar? A fixed bridge and a Floyd?

I'd prefer a DVD of the 1981 Oakland show but that's just me.
