I used the bike chain link method and am very pleased with the results (thanks for the idea TGP)!!
The handles to pick it up are designed into the sides of the tier.
My chain is: Turbo Tuner > Keeley 4 Knob Comp > Micro Pog > VL Micro Vibe > Lovekraft Chupacabra > King of Tone (HG red side) > Box of Rock > Ethos TLE > Boss DD-20 > Hardwire RV-7 > Digitech JamMan > Radial JDI MK4 > Board/PA.
All of the ">" are Canare GS-6 assembled by LavaCable.
Powered by a SupaCharger and 3 Wall-Wart Adapters.

Thanks, Shane! Actually, I'm playing acoustic 99% of the time, but the guy that plays for our worship band is a big shoegazer but doesn't have much of his own gear. He uses all my gear, and he has been building some sweet synthy/swelly/paddy loops that have really thickened up our sound. Thanks for the RC2!

Ok, I guess I will play again.:D
I finally decided it was time to incorporate tap tempo delays into my rig. While I love my Memory Man the DD-20 is much more versatile, and for live I find the modulation close enough. I also simplified my drives by dropping one from the lineup. This setup has been working very good for me lately.

Here's my board i love it a lot. Goes from a Strat, 335 or Jr, and into a Divided by 13 FTR.
The lovepedals spot gets switched around, but it's mostly the eternity, various gain pedals and fuzz pedals, mostly switch it out with a Fuzz Factory set for the kinda octave'ish effect i can get from it and use it for the strat.
The deja vibe gets switched out with a Carbon Copy sometimes or a Boss tremolo, but i really dig the vibrato tones i get from the vibe. The carbon copy also rules, for the more spacious and big delays.

yay for RV-5 love. RV-3 may be the "hip" one or whatever but none of the boss reverbs sound anywhere near as good as the RV-5's modulated setting--if that kind of sound is what you're after anyway. I freaking love mine.

In stereo buddy. :aok From the modfactor all the way to two amps. Clean boost added in a few hours. Done updating the TF. Currently updating the MF.

they finally got around to a MF update ehh?
I'm so on the fence about that thing. I really like the rotary setting and I LOVE the undulator sound but I don't think i'd use anything else on it. Maybe though. Almost pulled the trigger multiple times. How do you use yours most? (keep in mind I don't use phase or chorus or flange except VERY sparingly and have the pedals I actually do like for those sounds--and I had to look pretty hard to find the ones I actually did like)
oh yeah, the filter seems pretty cool too.

Can someone show me how these 3 button boxes are wired inside for the timefactor or modfactor or pitchfactor? I'd like to set one up instead of just a tap tempo so I can assign it other functions also, any help would be great.
Also, if in bank mode, can one be assigned to do the hold function normally only out of bank mode? And lastly, if you have one with three controls, can a bank be saved as a looper? so you can use the looper than with one of the on board stomps switch immediately over to a delay and stop the loop?

Congrats on the new pedal. I bought mine new from Mike with the mods already done, so I can't compare a before and after but I love the pedal. Best sounding DMM I've owned and I've had several.

No, the T-Rex has to be tapped on the tap button on the Replica, unless using MIDI, although, tapping in either or both is much easier now than what I had been working with the last two years delay wise.

It's a very '' Volume controlled '' board, the 2 sunfaces are there for different reasons, the BC 108 gives me
that sharp fuzz when I need it, the NKT is one of those last NOS ones and sounds insanely good as a lite OD
The Keeley gives me a great dynamics with the Durham sex drive ( what a great pedal ) for a darker OD tone
What can I say about the empress that hasn't already been said, the Analogman comprossor creates fantastic dynamic

Hi,
I recently culled down my rig to 5 pedals. I have found for my playing which is primarily blues with this rig, I am fine with a tuner, a few ODs, a boost and a chorus with my single channel amp. The ODs and boosts can be used independently of stacked to create many sounds and for clean playing the amp's reverb and a touch of chorus occasionally is doin the trick. Its light, easy to set up, easy to find connection problems and a single row (nothing to avoid reaching a back row etc.)
Works for me!

Got the new box Musket this week, sounds pretty nice. I had a ver 1 Musket last year, this one is a slight improvement.
But I'm sorely tempted to go to a PTjr, which would mean losing the Musket, RC2 and probably replacing the TimeFactor with a Boss DD7.

I've been playing around with the order of the pedals quite a bit recently, so you'll see that some of the patch cables are not currently connected. PP2 is mounted underneath.
When going to jams, I usually leave the Tube Tape Echo and Rotosphere at home and I put a Deluxe Memory Man where the Rotosphere is currently in this picture.
I don't know how to make the picture smaller so you may have to scroll a bit to the right to see the Clyde Deluxe.
It's nothing fancy, but I dig it a lot.

cool board demo!!
Thanks! It's been quite the work getting it done .. !
Just need a hum eliminator for the G-System [advised by Laird at the T.C. forum] and then I think I'm done with this live rig! Onward to the solo rig, that's partially incomplete now.
modded my Teese WOF, nothing serious, though:

Hey DCS awesome rig, you got your G all hooked up. All you need are some expression pedals for the G-system's parameters. :D They are overlooked and provide a lot of flexibility.

I haven't dabbled into the expression portions of the G-System but I've definitely thought about it! Chances are big that I'll get one or two expression pedals in the future.

Ive been working on this for a while; band practice is moving from my living room to a warehouse so I'll need to transport it regularly for the first time, and its the first time Ive 'completed' a set up, with velcro, mounted power supplies, only 3 power cables for the whole set up (mp201 and fcb1010 included), etc etc. The 2nd Lowpass filter is just filler for the Bass Murf I sold, being replaced by a MIDI Murf; one or two of the filters will also get the boot for another LS-2 in the near future, just trying to decide which... they're all so unique and sound great... Anyway here she is:

Ive got other ideas I'd like to implement, like a small CV patch bay for more efficient CV switching between songs, to get the most out of the MP201's 50 presets; Id also like a 2nd Freqbox to make the small boards LS-2 a true 'dual oscillator' setup (im getting the 2nd 'square' from the Pollyanna right now)... and the list goes on. Im very happy with it right now though :phones

RickB,
Super nice board!:aok How do you like the TC Chorus/Flange? Do you use it for the chorus alone, or do you find the flange and pitch modulator as well?
I like it a lot. It is one of those pedals that as good as it is, you keep trying others thinking they are going to be better. I had a few Choralflanges, got the TC SCF, had a couple of Redwitch Empress Chorus', tried the Hardwire CF-7 and been through a bunch of others (Boss (Keeley modded), Line 6, etc......). I just sold my last Empress and decided to take the TCF out again. I have realized the SCF is as good as it gets for what I like from a chorus. I don't like a lot of movement, just a subtle, wide, slow effect for clean sounds. The SCF does exactly that. The pitch mod mode is great as well. On the cheap though, the Hardwire CF-7 is really nice and I could be happy with that one too. Oh.... the flange mode is not bad. Not great but not bad. I am not a big flange person so it doesn't matter much to me. Hope that helps!

I saw this in the other thread and I can't take my eyes off that Tim  . How much more did you pay for that custom paint job?
I honestly don't know what the deal on that was. It goes back a couple of years and I got the pedal in a trade. Last I heard, Paul wasn't doing colors other than the stock blue anymore.

Nice. I'm thinking of giving up the TimeFactor for a DD7. 95% of the time I just use the Mod Delay on it. How close does the mod delay on the DD7 sound to the DMM? I like the DMM, but with certain songs it's better to have a cleaner/crisper delay.
I usually have the DMM set to vibrato, with the depth knob at around 8-9 o'clock.

It does take up some real estate, but I think it's worth giving it a good whirl before you tank it. When I'm sitting in a room I don't use it much, but when I'm taking a solo the thing finds its way into the mix more often than I thought it would. Very expressive piece when everything is kicked in, mixes things up nicely.

Hey man, I like the DD-7 a lot, it's simple to use, sounds great, looper is great. It does not though, sound like my DMM. It did sound a lot on analog mode to replace my Carbon Copy. But the modulation mode is good too, but just not as spacey as the DMM. However, I also have a Diamond Vibrato pedal, and with that and the DD-7, I can get the overall vibe of the DMM and then some. I too, only use the vibrato mode of the DMM. But the Diamond is a great all around pedal, great for adding something subtle, or over the top, and it has replaced a chorus pedal for me as well.
I should add, that when I can, I'll probably replace the DMM with a 919. Just has the right combination of features I want, smaller size, and much longer delay time of the DMM. Then, I'll have to decide whether I keep the DD-7 too, or trade a RC-2 for it, because I still want a looper. But I could keep the DD7 and add a RC-2, who knows.
Love it!
How do you like the Luna? I'm thinking of picking one up soon...
The Luna is great! I had one before, when they first came out but sold because I thought the speed went from slow to very fast way too quickly. It is better now, and nicely controllable with an expression pedal too. But overall, it is one of the better vibe pedals out there, although I haven't tried the uber expensive ones, and don't intend to now. I like vibe, but find I don't use it as much as I thought I would. But it's nice to have, and the Luna sounds great, doesn't take up a lot of space, and is reasonably priced, with no wait time. Win.

Yes, thanks! That helps a lot. I too prefer chorus to be subtle and have been very happy with using a Vibe instead, although, the TC-SCF has been on my radar for quite some time, and the new ChoralFlange seems to be delayed for an unknown amount of time. I guess I will break down and try one sometime and check it out to see if it is anything I would use, as it might come in handy for some of the music I play (Worship stuff). Though I have been trying to keep my board fairly simple because I have to sing as well for some gigs.

:drool:clips
Hehe, sure I have some clips- Ive been busy working on beats for the band, so I haven't recorded anything in a few months, but over this last year since getting into effects I've recorded many of my new discoveries and 'firsts', and therefor these are all very 'rough' to say the least, but you can get an idea of what kinds of tones Im getting from the boards(take with a grain of salt!). I just got this configuration wired up for the first time and the MP201's getting more dialed in everyday, so in a few months or so I should really have things cookin' :JAM
Here's a clip of the OC-2->Freqbox and maybe flange(polychorus if anything, didnt have the TZF for any of these clips), then the phaser is kicked on with 'env out' from the LPF for envelope phasing, and then some delay. I had just figured out the Freqbox tracking for the first time--by EQing out highs and boosting lows, I got the Freqbox tracking and sustaining very well; I also found that sticking a buffered pedal in between an octaver and the Freqbox also significantly aids in tracking, even if the buffered pedal is just sitting there bypassed!(i use a geb7) Something to think about for anyone else, especially bass players, dealing with Freqbox tracking issues:
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7671731
Here's one using the digital hog for the Octave tone; I made this clip the first night I'd MIDI sync'd the MP201 to Ableton and was just noodling around for a bit, and there is a description of the gear used in the link. I don't use the HOG for suboctaves as its just not as fat, but it came out pretty good nonetheless:
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7578121
HOG+some dirt+BassMurf+Polychorus+DM-2; using the hold/gliss function of the HOG to hold and slowly blend/smear notes into each other while turning knobs on the Polychorus and Delay; starts off slow but gets pretty erie starting around the 2min mark (imo anyway haha..)
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7663642
This clip was made during my first experiment with all my 'foogers plugged into each other with the tone being generated from the Carrier Out of the Ringmod into the Freqbox Audio in (no instrument plugged in); starts off just noise noodling, but I stumbled on a break beat pattern on the Bass Murf and 'mixed' it for a while by playing the sliders.. there's a description on the page that points out where certain sounds start (the 2nd half is most interesting, best part starting around 7min mark imo)
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7379572
Here are a few of the 'band' jamming; the first two are our first jams to new beats Im working on (just an 8bar section looping through most of the clips, myself on bass and another guy on keys/guitar) and the 3rd clip is just another one we've jammed on a few times, with 5 or 10minutes taken from each jam for the clips, so basically you're just hearing 'improv', but I liked how they worked out and we've been working these basic ideas into songs recently:

I just saw you board on this page- not too shabby! Can you tell me a little about the Doppleganger? Have you used the Moog or any other large CV phasers on the market to compare? Im much more interested in the '?' Flanger, and though I just got the TZF last week, Ive been toying with the idea of attempting to trade the TZF +$200 or so for a '?' Flanger... though to be honest, if EHX put out an XO Polychorus with an exp input, I'd probably snatch it up and end my flanger search there- I love my big box Polychorus. Anyway, you have some great pedals there and all the Lovetone pedals interest me- I'd love to hear your thoughts on the dopple :)

Ok, fightthepower, do tell what it is that you love about the Freqbox so much! I wanted one for a long time, but decided that i had enough giant moog stuff, and went with the HOG for my 'synthy' sounds instead. Since you've got both, and it seems like you've got a pretty similar taste in tone, what is your two-cents on teh MF107?

OH yeah, I play a Made in Korea Strat, with swamp ash body and birdseye maple neck and the stock seymour duncans.
Lots of trading, buying, selling, etc. still left to do, the blackstone, tone reaper, and semaphore are absolute keepers. I modded my boss cs-3 with a monte allums opto-plus mod and it is amazing it gets rid of a lot of noise and sounds amazing in general but I decided I'd rather have some sort of boost or overdrive that adds sustain, bottom end and volume as opposed to compression, any advice? The Line6 DL4 is super-cool especially the looper but I don't use most of it just standard delay sounds so I'm probably gonna sell it to get a memory toy(or boy) and a digital delay, maybe a looper. Probably gonna add a boss oc-2, subdecay prometheus, tuner, and pickle vibe it's definitely a work in progress.

It definitely gives the hotcake more grit and focus. Focus meaning it's less "open" sounding and more "mastered" (not sure if that makes ANY sense). The TIM is basically always on and just sounds like my amp turned up a few more notches (which I still find quite amazing).

Since you've got both, and it seems like you've got a pretty similar taste in tone, what is your two-cents on teh MF107?
Well, it depends on the types of synthy sounds you're going for I suppose, but in my opinion the HOG and Freqbox aren't really competing with each other (except for you wallet), and If I had to get rid of one it would be the HOG; the Freqbox is indispensable as the VCO in my setup; The HOG just pumps out octaves/harmonies, where as the Freqbox is shaping and modulating the signal. Generally, I'll set the Freqbox to take the input signal and output either a Saw, Triangle, Squarewave, etc in the same frequency range and pitch. You can also modulate the 'Wave' input with an LFO for PWM, add some envelope to the wave for some pitch modulation, put a fast LFO on the Freq input for a vibrato, etc etc.
If I used the HOG more for my octave tones (like I do the OC-2), then I would put the Freqbox after it and run them together; run your instrument into the HOG and set it to output a single octave with no clean signal, and out from the HOG into the Freqbox to shape it into a Triangle, or Saw, etc, then into a filter, modulation, etc etc... Beats the hell out of emulating those tones with a fuzz; though gated fuzz's like the Brown Dog and Wooly Mammoth do a great "squarewave", and other 'fuzzs' like the Prunes&Custard have a very unique sound when filtered. Anyway, thats basically how Im getting my synth tones. The Freqbox+LPF gives you a pretty solid dose of classic Moog synth goodness and if you're looking for those kinds of sounds- Freqbox all the way in my opinion.
Regarding the tracking, it can track very well but you really need to learn the pedal and get it dialed in- in sub-freq's its more of an issue. I also run an analog -1oct into the Freqbox with no dry signal, and EQ out highs/boost lows to get a stronger fundamental. Ive also found that simply placing a bypassed buffered pedal pre-Freqbox greatly improves tracking as well- something to consider if you pick one up.
Since you have the HOG and ringmod, if you haven't already done so, try using the HOG to split your signal and feed one (affected or unaffected) into the Audio In and the other into the 'Carrier' In; this gives you a tracking ringmod and you can get some interesting results by experimenting with different intervals. :phones

Heh, I've been using the LFO out on my MF103 to control different parameters of the HOG. Not the most useful, but super fun. One thing i was thinking, along the lines of the Freq, was getting a Pitch/CV converter, (you can find them in euro-rack modules), which would be awesome to have running into the Frequency input (at least, if im understanding the way that thing works correctly).
Anyway, diggin the board. Ill have mine up here in a few days when I can borrow my friends camera.

You know, I've had the CF for a long time but I go back and forth on my opinion of it. Sometimes I think it sounds a bit too bright, other times it works great. Right now I have the mix knob a little lower and it's working for me. Wouldn't mind trying something a little different and smalller!

yes i like the delay's buffer first in the pedal board- also with the looper close to the end i can loop the delay, wah, and phaser. i hardly ever loop any dirt sounds so it works for me. i play a variety of music, but mostly i stick to funk, jazz, and funky jazz!!!! as well as some james gang mixed in there.....signal chain goes delay, phase 90, wah, lo-fi, zendrive then the klon (with it's buffer at the end) the delay's dry output goes to the tuner. yeah i have to turn on the delay to use the tuner, but it is not in the signal chain- the end justifies the means.

Just added the Freakshow FX Brown Rabbit today. The red pedal next to the Brown Rabbit is a Stomp Under Foot Violet Ram's Head clone (Big Muff variant). MI Audio Boost N' Buff is the last pedal in my effects loop for solo volume boosts.

How are you liking that Brown Rabbit? i've kinda had it on my radar for a while, i think the soundclips are great.

I just got it yesterday. I'm going to gig with it tonight and tomorrow night. So far I like it with the limited time I've played with it. It doesn't seem to have that nasal Rat sound. Little more smooth sounding and the three clipping options are very nice. The low end seems very full sounding. Looking forward to hearing how it sounds at gig levels.

I just have to ask where you guys got these patch cables? I've seen similar tips at Radio Shack, but the actual cable looks so professional.
They are Switchcraft Plugs, Mogami 2319 cable. I make them all to size. They are the best you can buy for flat-right plugs and cabling.

My own design. I got the name from our drummer. I think he used the phrase to refer to someone he didn't like, and it stuck with me. It's an overdrive that goes from almost totally clean into distortion territory with some fuzz character. Two gain knobs - the red one (choad) is a lower harmonic distortion that has the fuzzy character and sort of sounds like 6L6s breaking up. The yellow knob (blast) is a mid-range distortion. The two together can get some cool voicings. Other knobs are tone and volume.
I'm considering making another to send out as a tour box for TGPers to evaluate...

There's some money invested in that last pedalboard.
I don't have a photo, but mine goes like this:
Everyday Pedalboard:
Guitar-Line 6 Compressor/Noise Gate-BBE AM64 Distortion-Marshall Guv'nor Plus-MXR Phase 90-Ibanez DE7-5150 Head with DigiTech DigiVerb in Effects Loop-2x12" Cabinet
Then, at times I will run my Rat 2 or my 69 Fuzz Clone in front of my everyday pedalboard. Everything on the board runs off of adapters, so I'll leave the board as is. The Rat and the 69 Fuzz run off of batteries, and will be much more convenient between the guitar and the board. I plan to experiment with using these two pedals together anyway.
I've decided that my Boss BF-3 Stereo Flanger is more useful for my 2 amp Bass Guitar rig.

Almost all scratch builds. The rehouses are the Red Witch Moon Phaser and Tone Press in the back right corner and the Screw Driver in the blue sparkle case (next to the 70 pedal) that I "deluxed" and reboxed with top jacks proper. :banana

Been having a lot of fun with this board recently.
Grey hammerite pedal on the far right is an Eternity clone, and the red sparkle pedal on the bottom row is an EA Trem.
4MS Phaser Fleur and Bassballs not actually hooked up now because the 4MS is just about to get painted and the Bassballs is just about to get TB'd.

I usually play through dual AC30s, but sometimes I switch it up and do an AC30 and a Hot Rod Deville.
The Timmy stacks soooo good with everything, it's really an amazing pedal. I really like it with the Screwdriver especially.

Finally reconfigured the pedals, strangely enough the new Pedal Power 1 I picked up here on TGP for 40 bucks was the impetus to get it done. Finally free of batteries and daisy chains!
The big board:
