I love going to a concert and being "converted" by the opening band. It's rare that I get converted, but last night I saw MUSE open for U2 at Giants Stadium.

WOW - they rocked. Immediately made me think of Radiohead's agrier / pissed off little brother.

Sonically, they just sounded HUGE in this stadium. I'd give anything to strum my guitar and have that full a sound rip through a venue like that.

i was there too. they will be coming back stateside in early 2010 to do a full US tour for their new record.

theyre incredible. wish there was a crowd to see them. I felt bad for them because they can just about sell out any stadium worldwide except here.

amazing band. its funny how big of a tom morello fan he is, and how much it comes out in his playing.

its certainly polarizing. But i started out feeling the same and now think its brilliant. The 2 songs live came out amazing. I dont think their music is meant to be heard in any other form but live in a huge stadium. Its really strange but imo - its true.

My friend is their guitar tech, who turned me on to MUSE. I like their latest and I plan to go deeper in their catalog.

Agreed. I have since gone and listened to the studio versions, and they don't sound quite so massive. I do wish the mix was as good as U2's mix. But that seems to be the case with every opening band. Must be a ploy.

Oi... their new single's hook is 'call me' by blondie all the way.

Great band, but his heavy breathing kind of bugs me.
Worthy of their success I think.

I've been a fan since Showbiz, they are all really talented musicians. I've seen them a bunch of times in smaller rooms here in the US, and during the same period they were playing stadiums in Europe... kinda funny how that works.

Not exactly on topic, but I saw this the other day and had to have a little laugh. Funny guys!

And I'd also add to that - they're great musicians, very proficient - both guitar sounds (bass and electric) have been killer for the last few albums, those guys definitely know their gear and what their doing.
