Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand most newer cars. They all have that same ugly, electric car, dome shape and light fixture. They all have that same quiet, ballsless "whrrrring" noise, even the SUVS. If something has a V8, I want to HEAR it. I realize that these cars get way better mileage and probably run a lot smoother, but I've never really cared about mileage. Maybe it's because I grew up in a muscle-car family and I love working on cars, specifically high-performance engines, but I'm not willing to sacrifice power, looks, sound and balls to gain a few extra miles on gas.

btdt. Have both.

One car that is really fun and one you KNOW will start every time, regardless of weather, altitude ect. Then move on with life.

I hear you. I feel your pain. Cars have become an appliance. And the desire to be more aerodynamic has pushed designers towards a similar shape. And they all seem to share a similar mfg process where the front and rear (especially the rear) body/bumper is a single molded piece. I don't have evidence, but I get the feeling a few external suppliers provide interior pieces to a lot of car companies.
But it's getting better. That Taurus egg shape has given way to cars like the Camaro, the Challenger, Mustang, etc. And sometimes the seam between the rear bumper wrap and the body seems to have been done with some forethought. Like the designers actually thought about it and integrated it into the design of the body.
The experience of a big block on Cam2 are pretty much gone.

car styling has gone downhill since 1974
