We hit the RV trail last Sunday and have so far crossed into the U.S. near Watertown, NY, and have driven across that state, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska. We're sitting at the western edge of Nebraska at the moment and will be moving onward tomorrow.
Have so far met three TGP'ers and hope to add to that list as we go on to California.....

Midnight Lady

Anywhere really.... We'll be in Santa Rosa and Sonoma for a few days. Visiting in Monterey, Mission Veijo, San Bernadino, Los Angeles.... etc.
We'll probably be in CA until Thanksgiving, so free to wander at will!

I'm in midwest Ohio, very near I-75. Let me know if you get in my area... I live out in the country, and have room to park an RV.
Free kitten with every visit!

Appeared to travel south of here on the way out, and...from what you and FB have mentioned...will probably remain south of here on the way back. But, if you make it anywhere near MSP or Western Wisconsin, let us know. FB knows the Mrs. from much earlier in his flying days and we would both enjoy a visit.
Hope you have lots of fun on the road..see lots of interesting thing and hopefully meet lots of interesting people.

Looks like a fun journey ahead of you! That's something I'd like to try at some point.
Are you planning to hit all states?

Good point eighty-six! I will post some for you (I'll have to ask the TGP members if they mind me posting their photos first!!!)
In Indiana, we parked in our own driveway (house empty and for sale) since it was free.... and FB checked the oil in the morning. Ever seen the dipstick on one of these rigs? Wow!

Eventually I hope so! I have a goal to see all of the states. I'm about halfway there - which isn't bad for a Canuck eh? After California, for sure we'll see Nevada and Arizona... but the plan remains very flexible.

Let me know if you're coming near Santa Cruz, CA. We have RV space on our property in teh SC mountains, BUT the road is very steep, windy and rough. Our landlord does it in a RV, but he's a tad crazy.

Next year we're planning an earlier departure for the Sonoma area and will take the Northern route through Canada and the Northern US.
That will take us through WA, OR and also WI back in MGE80's neighborhood.

Very smart of you to bypass Missouri. lol. If in St. Louis, let me know.We spent a week in St. Louis in April of this year and enjoyed it! Spent a couple of days at the zoo - fantastic! And that Bandanas BBQ is great!

Arizona is on the list! It will likely be January/February when we get there, but I have a friend in Mesa and it is a state I love.
We're about a three hours drive south of Mesa ...
Tombstone (morning gunfighter shows) and Bisbee (afternoon shopping and evening dining) together can make a nice day trip and just a short drive south from I-10.
Stay at Bisbee's Copper Queen and maybe you'll see a ghost! ;)

I was wondering why my insurance rates skyrocketed, and PA State Police put in so much extra overtime, recently!Yep that would be why! Although I don't see why yours would have skyrocketed, I believe we took care of that all by ourselves (yikes!)
Just make sure you get to the gig (http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/images/cars/goodole2.jpg) early, or you might be replaced.Very cute!
Warning: It's full of Texans.

Keep going, soon you'll get to place worth being in.They're all worth it!!! Nebraska, Colorado, Utah and Nevada will be new for me and I love seeing new places.
I'm S of Ft. Collins in the town of Erie. Not too far from Greeley.
Oh well........
Enjoy the scenery. Thanks! What a shame - I had NO IDEA that you lived in Colorado...... but the scenery was truly amazing.
...if you come to the San Diego area, there are 2 CA state campgrounds that are right on the ocean...South Carlsbad State Beach and Cardiff, CA...
...there is also a state campground north of Camp Pendleton...you'd be right on the ocean...We are checking out the Camp Pendleton one right now - thank you for the tips!!! We need a place that will reduce rates if you stay for a month or so - these places are not cheap!!
You HAVE to go through Lake Tahoe!!!! 20-30 minutes from Reno on the way (kind of) to Sacramento.
Midnight Lady

Unsure about Lake Tahoe on this pass (we're trying to make it to Santa Rosa, CA by Thursday) but it looks like a good future visit! Hope we get to meet you Gilbert!
NOW -- to all TGP'ers in CA or NV -- these are the two states we will visit before the end of the year -- after the 3rd/4th weekend, we are free to wander at will. If you'd like to meet up with us, please let us know!

It's a dream of mine (every day) to load a up an SUV with 3 suitcases, 2 guitars, a 112 amp, and a small board and travel with no aganda and no specific time limit (say 5-6 months total) to Boston (home), NY, DC, Chapel Hill, Ashville, Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Austin, Santa Fe, AZ, Vegas, Palm Springs, LA, Santa Barbara, Mid coast CA, SF, Marin, Mendocino, Portland, Seattle, home through mountains, stop in in Chicago, again at Philly, then home. Playing music, seeing shows and a few sites, reading books, meeting folks, soaking up the spirit of each place, chilling. Staying is some places for a week or two, others a day or two. Staying in hotels. Figure $400/day x 180 = $75K. Yikes.
Then doing the same in Europe, Stockolm to Instanbul.
Then picking a place to live (short list predictions: NY, London, SF, Florence, Amsterdam).
Enjoy!!!
