Planning on buying a vintage avatar 2x12 with this.
Should I go open back or closed back? I thought I would get better cleans with the openback. thinking of getting two hellatone 30s in it.
Dont want the vinatge purples as I plan on using cab with other amps so I need something well rounded.
I have a Premier Vintage(OS) cab that sounds great with my Hiwatt 50 .
It's open back(5.5" space) .

Ah, you're finally going to pull the trigger on that C-50, eh? Did you order already? Are you going to go with the power scaling?
You're going to have to give us a tone report after you get to plug in for a while. Congrats, cisspcism!
I've also heard good things about Avatar cabs. Looking forward to hearing about how it all comes together.

Didnt pull the trigger yet, but On November 15 when I will officially have 1800 bucks to spend, I will be calling Reeves. Not going with the power scaling option.
First is the Reeves custom 50, and then in January I will put the down payment on a pt100 which should take about 3 to 4 months to build giving me time to save up for the rest of that.
You may find an open back cab makes the amp too bright or just plain too loud
for some situations.
If possible, I would opt for a convertible back cab for greater versatility.
I'm still stuck between the Custom series and the CP-504 series.
That extra gain stage in the CP series is something I'd want to try.
It might be worth a train trip or road trip to visit Bill's shop.

Nope, cant get there.
The CP looks good but if I want more gain I will use my Analog man modded DOD 250 or RC booster.
I am leading towards 2x12 open with g12h30s, I am using a cab like that with my DR Z Z28 and with the closed back panel added wasnt as nice and clear as wihen the pannel was off.
I am thinking its between this 2x12 open back with G12h30 vs 2x12 closed back with green backs
