Whatever it is - ragweed I assume - bloomed or pollinated or whatever the vile little bastards do. Yesterday morning I was fine. By noon I was sniffling. By 4PM I was so miserable I could barely swallow.

Before someone suggests it, it's not the piggy flu. I get this every year at about the same time. Three days of sore throat followed by two weeks of sniffling sneezing dripping mucous, which invariably causes me to go to the doctor for non stop coughing.

I've had Zyrtex, Musinex, steroids, inhalers - the works. It is my destiny to be miserable in late September/Early October.

Stupid spores...

I'm right there with you. Probably a different trigger for me but the same result, plus asthma.

NasalCrom. Don't leave home without it. ymmv...... (I bring this one up because it's so totally safe and without side effects, as well as OTC, and often helps a lot). But, I know the drill...

I used to have terrible fall allergies but since I stopped eating wheat and dairy my symptoms have subsided considerably. Now I have about a week or less of symptoms that are only 10% of what they used to be and let me tell you...it was rough. Killed me for weeks and NO meds worked nor natural remedies. Worth a try........

Avoid empty fields, ditches, vacant lots. Keep your car a/c on - recirculate (no outside air). Keep your windows closed at home. If you've been outdoors, change your clothes when you get home. Don't dry clothes by hanging them on a clothesline (I learned this one the hard way). If you have pets that go outside, have someone else groom them.

Besides that, start taking antihistamines a week or so before the allergies are due to start.

I share your misery.

Fully understand.

Year-round allergy guy here, get shots and the whole bit. Best I've felt my entire life, these past three or four years, though---check out an actual Allergist type MD, usally an ear-nose-and-throat MD in the same package.
