took advantage of the Rice Custom Guitars October sale today (see Manufacturer's Emporium) to pick up the irresistible #126

You know, Rices are beautiful to look at, but more than any other guitars I have ever played, the pictures just don't get at how great these guitars are. I have owned a bunch of custom guitars, and NOBODY puts such talent, sweat, and devotion into their instruments than Rich and Chris Rice. They were great from the start, but are getting better over time.

Just #126 and the name on the headstock is good enough for me. I really wish I could put this guitar into words. A beautiful fat maple neck on a one-piece ash body done with consummate artistry like this one is why I play electric guitar. I have loved lesser ones too, but man, this one is like the Sun compared to the other mere stars up there....

Yea, If I had not had another custom guitar in the works I might have picked that one up. I thought about it a lot. I was actually kind of relieved that someone got it so I would not gas over it anymore. I like their guitars and their reputation is excellent but I do not like their head stocks on most of their guitars. I love the CBS fender style ones like that and on the tele body, man that is a great looking guitar. Nice to hear that its a great instrument.
