View Full Version : Need help wiring a 5 way switch!

Well I'm swapping out the pups on my Jackson from stock to EMGs. All is well except for the 5 way switch. I don't know which wire solders to which piece.

Help!

No one knows how a 5 way is wired?

I know nothing about Jacksons, but why not just solder them the same way as stock pickups?

I tried that and it's not working right. Plus I'm going from passives to actives.

According to emg you should have received a wiring diagram, see here (http://www.emginc.com/content/wiringdiagrams/EMG-T-TCset.pdf). Can you post it? What sort of guitar is it, anyway? Is it like a Strat with 3 pickups? (sorry don't know much about Jackson)

The wiring diagram they sent me was all two pup configurations. My Jackson is HSS.

If you show me how they wire a 2 pickup guitar, and if you know what you want from your guitar then I can work out the rest and give you something to work with (ie. a wiring diagram)

Do you want a strat-like 5 way, i.e.:

neck
neck+middle
middle
bridge+middle
bridge
