I received my new - to me - Huber Dolphin Jr today. Finally got home, and plugged her into my Swart AST. Two videos are upcoming - one with clean tones, and one with dirty tones.

The clean tone one is already uploaded, the other one is on its way.

So for now, here's the Clean Tone review:

Video review of the Huber Dolphin Jr - Clean Tones (http://mojocaster.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/huber-dolphin-jr-played-through-swart-ast-amp/).

Enjoy - I did :)

It didn't take you long then! It sounds just as articulate and chimey in the shorter scale, really nice. glad to hear you like it.

Yeah, I am loving it. So well balanced, both as an instrument and sonically. I am uploading the overdriven one as I type this. I'll post a link when it's up :)

Thanks Jeff. Last night I was playing it and trying to decide whether I liked it clean or dirty better, and well, I couldn't decide. Same thing for tapped vs. non-tapped. Love it as much one way as the other. This is one special guitar, and I feel very fortunate to own it.

Korina is so sweet......that piece and the finsih work looks really nice.
Probally no bad setting on that one......and that makes for a good gig buddy !!

Are you diggin' the scale length ? I have no problems switching between them, but I'm sorta a hack,ya know.......

Certainly my new favorite in your collection.

I don't normally like the Gibson scale, but somehow on this guitar it works for me. Not sure why. I think it may be the neck profile.

I think that they're an equal quality match. I love that AST.

Mojo, I'm guessing you won't be trading that one in anytime soon! You did the right thing choosing the korina over the cherry (korina is good for your soul ;) ). I love the clean tones video!

I had the good fortune to meet Nik Huber this summer at a guitar show in Montreal. He is the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. He stopped by my table to introduce himself and check out one of my Jr like models. He said "I also make a Jr". I said "no, you make probably the nicest Jr I've ever seen". We geeked out discussing our love for all things Jr. :aok

That was my experience with Nik as well. One of the nicest guys you will meet, and he makes one helluva guitar to boot.

Nope! You can add me to that list too although as strange as it sounds, I think I'd like the korina Jr more?!

I today joined the "Nik Huber Jr Club" (much thanks Mike). Mine's the "Orca" (Fender scale) version. Have only fiddled with it for a few minutes thru a Sommatone EL84 amp and a tweed deluxe style but I'm loving it as well. Thanks for your input in deciding to go for it.
