Hey guys,

tell me about your V22 , and how you've modded it. also tell me why (sound, reliability, visually...)

I'm planning on buying one next week. And want to know what are future costs...

Thanks!

Jan Phillips 5751 in V1 pos made a big difference in tempering the buzziness

Hellatone 60 also was a big upgrade over the stock speaker. Much more low end and smoother highs. The stocker breaks in nicely though and is perfectly fine given you put some hours on it.

Modded the footswitch. Took the hardwired cable out and installed a 1/4" TRS jack so I can use a standard TRS cable for plugging in both ends. (this seemed to cure any channel switching problems also)

JJ EL 84's slight difference, but the stock tubes are pretty good.

My gig setup right now includes a variety of guitars through a Lovepedal Eternity,TS9, and straight in the V-22. I also use an EQ in the loop for a slight boost.

Just tubes and speaker upgrade here, too. I went with an Eminence GB12 speaker. It sounds very much like the stock speaker only bigger and louder.

Tubes ended up with a new production Tung-Sol 12AX7 in V1, old production Tung-Sol 12AV7 (or AY7, not sure) in V2 GE 12AT7 in V3 and old production 6QB5s for power tubes. Bias it around 21-22 mv and away you go!
