That song rocks. What setup for dat? Was that Johnstone in the studio or somebody else?

I remember watching an Alice Cooper concert movie a long time ago that had Johnstone playing. Alice introduced him and he whipped out that Saturday Night riff.

Sounds like treble booster of some sort as well.

They can do that at the console.

I'm guessing they just overload one of the tube preamps, right (like "Revolution")?

Les Paul Custom / Marshall.

Yep, that black custom. Is that a killer tone or what? Then again Davey always had a great tone.

Check out the dvd "The making of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" it's a must for any Elton/Davey fan.

I've always understood it was Les Paul/treble boost/dimed silverface champ.

I would've been such a better guitar player if I had kept listening to Elton and not got into KISS...:facepalm
