View Full Version : What to watch - TV

I like Bones.
I like Psych.

I still DVR Monk, but I no longer rush to watch the episodes like I do for the two above (I record them, but often watch them "live").

I gave up on Lost. I watched it religiously at first, but then, it's just gone on too long IMO.

I also started watching Invasion and that one with Lara San Giacomo - I liked both of those but Invasion finished the season with no "conclusion" before the series ended. I hate that (same with the one Sean Cassidy directed with the Lucas Black and "Someone's at the Door" bit - ended with no conclusion).

I'm afraid to start watching Flashforward because it might do the same thing.

What about Fringe, and Vampire Diaries?

JSYK, I started Supernatural too, but got kind of tired of that as well.

I'm not really into any of the googolplex variations of "CSI" type shows even though they're probably good. But since you can catch some incarnation of some NCIS type show at all hours of every day on at least 3 channels, I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I've not gotten into Mad Men (believe a movie channel should play - wait for it - movies) and Rescue Me. Really liked "The Shield", but got tired of that one too.

I think it's the "too long story arcs" that get me. What's going to be on Lost this season - let me guess, yet another "twist" they can get more episodes out of. I still want to know why the things that were so important in the first season (the lotto numbers and walt's "powers") became non-issues as the show went on (well, I know why - ratings - concentrating on storylines viewers want and characters they like).

So what's good out there - new shows especially.

Dexter. One of the best shows ever.

Start w/Season One.

If there is something you want to watch on tv, buy the dvd or download it. think I've gotten much higher blood pressure from having to sit through all the crap they call commercials. Pisses me of real bad when they cut to commercial in the middle of an exciting part. TV at it's finest moments is when it's turned off.

Fringe is great. Although they won't admit it it, it is really X-Files Redux, right down to the opening credits.

Last season's Lost was great. This will be the last season coming up, so no worries about extending the plot, it will al be wrapped up by May.

Flash Forward is good. If they drag it all out like Lost did I will lose interest.

I prefer the sitcoms. Modern Family is funny.
Cougar Town was funny for one episode. How many times can ya make an older woman screws younger man funny???
The Middle is funny. Its not Cheers funny but its better than the scripted reality crap.

I like Fringe also, and Scyfy came out with a new one called Warehouse 13 that was kinda fun. I really don't follow much else. Sports and movies are about it for me. I don't like reality tv shows at all.

I don't think they would deny it. The second season opener showed a guy in his living room watching The X-Files.

Fringe is great. Although they won't admit it it, it is really X-Files Redux, right down to the opening credits.

Yeah, that's what I heard the previous season though...

I'll give Fringe a try - I really liked X-Files (even the latest movie, even though it was just a longer TV episode).

Flash Forward looks interesting too, but I might wait until repeats to Tivo it since it will help to see that one in order.

Thanks all.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

5 horrible people with no redeeming qualities, it's a hillarious show.

30 Rock is absurd in a good way.
