Hi guys,
I'm looking for a good wah pedal that's transparent when bypassed. I like vintage sounding wahs but I also like the wah solo in Alice In Chains "Man In The Box".
Is there a good one that won't load my signal?

well you can buy a boutique wah for $$$, or you can take any Dunlop Wah and make it TB for about $15.

Go try this one out... It'll be exactly what you're looking for. Yes, it IS True Bypass.

You sure about the true bypass?? Personally, for something as stomp-sensitive as a wah, I'd go for the basic Dunlop-shape that most builders use. The E-B method with the rope works fine on a volume pedal, but I wouldn't trust it for wah, but that's just my $ 0.02.
Like said before, any wah pedal can be made true bypass (check Fulltone's website, he spells it all out for you) by spending a little on a 2PDT or a 3PDT-switch. Last one even gives you the option of a status LED.
So, basically the question is: what wah sound do you like? I'd go for a Vox anytime...

I'm a big fan of the Vox with a true bypass switch in it until I tried out the Fulltone. Just the regular one, too. I wasn't crazy about the sweep of the deluxe but I REALLY liked the Standard.

Austin just completely redid my old crybaby and it kills. No tone suck, dead quiet and killer fatness added. I am really in love with my wah again...Thanks Austin.

Glad I could help! I really enjoy that sort of work. Thanks for the kind words!

I'm curious about this, since there's only so a few ways to do complete true bypass, and Fuller would just use a 3PDT. There "should" be no difference. (I'd rather not hijack the thread over this though.)

Teese Picture Wah is awesome... The BBE looks like a great off the shelf value.

Isn't that a talkbox?
Its actually wah mixed with talkbox mixed with straight signal for the rhythm guitars and wah only for the solo. Good thought though.
I really like my slightly modded Vox V847 (for the love of God don't get the V847a!) But I would like to try out the CAE wah!
My Fulltone Clyde Deluxe has the best true bypass i've ever heard ........absolutely zero tone suck ! Very pleased

Yes, it's TB... and its easily the nicest wah I've used so far. I could never get used to any of the Dunlop ones. Some how this one was so simple, yet it's so good.

IMHO the best Wah to come out in years is the Dunlop BG-95 Buddy Guy sig wah. Anybody looking for a wah should really check one out.

My Budda wah is so smooth
But I gotta say, My BBE Benwah is so much more of a talking and crying wah. Great.
