If the Raiders D from last weekend shows up, we've got a shot. But we're going to have to do better than one big fluke of a play on offense if we want to win.

It would help if Russell had Schilens back for this week, but it looks like his foot is acting up again.

Mike, I like your faith and confidence. Unfortunately I no longer have either after 33 years of supporting them. Things like this make me sick:

Oakland lost by at least 20 points for the fourth time in five weeks

Russell has committed 13 turnovers and completed just 46 percent of his passes

This was just the fifth home shutout ever for the Raiders (2-5), with four coming in the past four seasons

In other words, they were shutout for a home loss once in 36 years, then four times in four years.

Wow.

In addition, the Raiders have scored 5 TDs in a total of 28 quarters this year. Someone pointed out in another thread that Brady had that many in one quarter last week. I believe at least 2 current QBs have thrown for more TDs in a game than the Raiders have scored total this year.

Wow...I can't believe how bad Russell is. The mistakes he was making were things I was told not to do in Jr High and that is not exaggerating in the least. I am not a fan of Dierdorf but he nailed it when he called the mistakes "sophomoric". I saw him throw the ball up for grabs right down the middle of the field TWICE when he was under pressure. You can't do that at ANY level of football and expect to be successful.

The terrible part of all of this is that the Raiders *do* have some talent. But big Al is so determined to make the Russell thing work that he is throwing the entire team under the bus in order to prove himself right.

Big Mike...I admire your persistence bro... Better luck next week.

Saw this stat today on ESPN:

Darius Heywood-Bey: 7 games, 4 receptions, 64 yds

Michael Crabtree: 1 game, 5 receptions, 57 yds

The QB obviously is partly to blame for Heywood-Bey's lack of production, but it's not like Crabtree had Brady throwing the ball to him yesterday. It was Shaun Hill and Alex Smith, who had barely played in 2 years.

Raiders' problems come down to 1 thing: years and years of bad draft day decisions.

The fibula injury Leon Washington suffered Sunday involved a compound fracture, the Daily News reports. Literally, a bad break for Washington, as the word is that the broken bone pierced his skin. "I could see blood spurting out," one player said. "I've never seen anything like that before." Washington, who underwent emergency surgery Sunday, has not yet been placed on IR, but we assume that he is done for the year. Rookie Shonn Greene to fill in.

Hmmm shut out or giving a win away.... Which is worse

Fins were pretty crappy, dominating the Saints for three quarters and then turning into a reasonable facsimile of the Raidahs. Reminded me of the Colts game, we beat them up for 45 mins and then gave it away.

Almost no wr's have been thrown to since jasnackus has been in town.
At least bay had his ass in camp.

Not saying Crabtree's holdout was justified because it wasn't. Crabtree was stupid, but virtually every pro scout had Crabtree rated as the best WR prospect in the draft last year.

Uncle Al took Bey because of his continued delusion about a vertical offense.

I have no doubt that Crabtree will be the better pro. He showed excellent hands yesterday and ran some good routes for a guy that missed all of OTAs, training camp and 7 weeks of the season.

5 bucks says he goes diva...

Well, it is a diva position. Guys like Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are the exception rather than the rule.

Holding out was ridiculous but at least Crabtree kept his mouth shut during the whole ordeal.

Whether he's a diva or not has nothing to do with whether he will be a better pro than Heyward-Bey.
