I have a spankin new ADK laptop, with Protools M 8 with a M-audio 2626. I just bought the EZ Drummer plug in and have just loaded it.

First problem, when I pull up the EZ Drummer Solo sampler it seems to work fine. I hear the drum samples etc. But when I bring up Protools I can not hear the EZ drummer anymore.

Once I solve this issue, how the heck do you get the samples into Protools. I've been successful in dragging the midi files from EZ Drummer onto the track of a Protools file, but of course with no sound (I realize its a midi track, thus no audio). I assume that EZ drummer must be put into a insert on a Protools track but I do not understand how to do that. All the Protools plugins that came with the software all show up in the menu but EZ drummer doesn't. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

EZ Drummer is used as a Virtual Instrument in PT. It's not a plug in. You'll need to understand how to use instrument tracks, and midi tracks. You can take it to the next level and route the EZ Drummer sounds to Audio tracks as well. Check out the Toontrack forum for more detailed info.

Unless I missed it in either PT or EZ Drummer manuals, they don't really cover this too well.

Forum is still there...but its scattered for a newbie. They need a "new to..." section. On that note though. The EZ Drummer and Protools are working now...It's like it healed itself. EZ drummer plays samples with the PT's running. I dragged a EZD drum midi file into a PT's instrument track and it plays in Protools. And EZ drummer now shows up in the virtual instrument list....it must have gone to the river and healed itself.....Lord have mercy and pass the collection plate....

Glad you got it working! :) Evidently shutting the dang computer down so that it could reset itself has something to do with it. I dragged and dropped a midi drum file from EZ drummer onto an instrument track and then found EZ Drummer in the Virtual instrument file to the track and it all seems to work. And I Don't Know Why..........

I need to take the instrument track and feed it to an audio track so I have a real sound (wav) file. It doesn't sound all that hard to do. I'm sure I'll be posting again on the next hurdle. They make it so dang easy in the promo video's don't they,,,,minus a couple dozen steps.
