I have an interview at UCLA and was wondering if anyone happened to have any recommendations on where to stay close to campus on the cheap. Any suggestions? I'm looking at priceline right now, maybe my best bet?

You could email their admissions or alumni relations office -- they'll probably have some suggestions.

Done that, they recommended a couple of places on campus that cost around $140 or so... Thanks though.

Most of the places in Westwood are going to be pretty steep. Are you going to have a car or are you going to rely on the bus or taxis?

Bryan, thanks for the reply. I'm going to be relying on taxis/bus system. I rode a bus from LAX to UCLA last year and it worked out well. The place I stayed at was on campus and honestly wasn't worth the $140 a night. I almost booked on priceline for a flight and hotel, but you can't dictate time of flight if you do that :/

Maybe check the Travelodge in Santa Monica on Pico? I've put my dad up there a few times when he's been in town. It isn't luxury, but should be under $100 a night, I'd think. You can take the #7 big blue bus to UCLA. Bonus feature is that it is across the street from McCabe's guitar shop.

How cheap. $140 is about as low as you can go for reasonable accomodations in that area, but you can get decent value for that.

There's a lot of big bushes along Sunset Blvd.

What are your travel dates and what's your preferred budget? If you've travelled from LAX before and was okay with it, I can help you out with something + logistics. PM me or email me at btx109@aol.com if you prefer.
