Hey guys, so over the last year I have done SO MANY deals here on TGP! I had a little list going in my signature but just don't have enough space for them anymore.

Recently, I've been getting messages asking me to vouch for some people and it got me thinking - although I remember doing the deal and it going smooth, I just simply can't remember everything that's been bought, sold, and traded, you know? Just bc a guy/gal bought something from me doesn't mean I know if they would be smooth on their end shipping a guitar, etc (although they probably would).

The supergeek in me thought about starting a spreadsheet with all the info on it - name, what was sold, for how much, etc, etc.

How do you all keep up with that?

I save one PM from everyone I've done a deal with. I think I can have up to 500 PM's in there, so it's plenty of space. Works fine so far.

When I engage in either a buy or sale, the initial communication is through PM. If things look promising, then I ask that we switch to email. I then save the emails of those who I do business with.

My PM box fills up so quick on here there's no way I can keep up with them that way!

As for the emails, that's a good idea (not that the PM one was bad by any means). I should try utilizing the Mail option on my Mac.

Post your list in the Good Dealings thread, and then just update your post as needed:

Edit Folders, make a folder named References, keep last PM from each sale there to keep track of transactions
