WOW.

Today was the second time I've been able to rock through that amp, and my lord is it awesome.

I wanted something 20-30 watts, and I'm almost 100% certain this is what I'm going for.

Lugging my Twin around simply isn't any fun, and quite frankly I don't need that much power, but I like having it. ;)

The rhythm channel on the Imperial is everything I could expect. It sounds just like my Twin but not as loud. Perfect.

Also, the reverb owns my Twin's.

What blew me away was the damn lead channel. With my strat this channel just sounds disgusting (that's good, btw).

I was busting out some really nasty sounding Rory Gallagher type stuff and it just sounded amazing.

I'm probably going to look for one used, but I'm not opposed to buying one new if I can't find a used within a week or two.

Anything else I should be considering in this price range?

I've played a ton of shit in this range and have yet to find something as toneful.

Wow, that was a lot of typing.

Just ordered myself an Allen Sweet Spot which is slightly smaller than the Tone King Imperial in size - watts and $$$. The Imperial looks like a great amp and I'd love to hear one. I have the same problem with big amps vs. small gigs so I'm finally getting around to buying a small amp.

Well, coming from you guys I'd have to say that about does it.

Now to start looking for a used one.

I'm curious about one thing; I found myself kind of wishing it had a bright switch. Do you know if Mark will add one if I send it in?

Mark's communication level is the best I have ever encountered. He replies all e-mails and usually with careful thought out answers. I hate it when I write an e-mail with several questions and only get a reply with a single line...or word. write him an e-mail about the bright switch and I'm sure you will have your answer pretty quick.

btw, isn't there a used Imperial on the classified. I think it's one of the older one but the price was under a grand.

My Metropolitan has a bright switch.

A little update:

Mark Bartel = AWESOME

He's going to do a bright switch for me when I find an Imperial, and it's only going to run me 30 bucks + shipping.

Awesome.

And he replies to emails SUPER fast.
