Last night I received a DVD of my band's performance at the local Independence Day festival.

I want to be able to cut the video on the DVD into individual songs so I can upload them on YouTube, etc. and I need to make some copies of the DVD for my bandmates, friends, family members, etc.

Any recommendations for software to be able to do this?

Thanks.

I recently went thru the same questinos.

As of last night I think I have it.

Get DVDx (I'll link it up when i'm at home if you need me to) It's free, open source.

I was able to rip a 95 minute DVD to WMV file. It took about 6 hours to rip (dual rip) but it came out very clean and the audio is perfectly sync'd.

From there I use Windows Movie Maker to trim out individual songs. I then convert the file to mp4 to upload to youtube/facebook.

Works pretty good.

Also with Movie Maker you can mute the original audio and sync up another audio source (sbd or aud mics) so you nearly have a pro quality product.
