I have a fully loaded Area 51 wah that sounds great but the sweep is not as smooth as I would like to hear. The tone sort of jumps through out the sweep if that makes sense. I was wondering if a pot change might help with this? If so what pot?

That wah is voiced to have the vocal "oowah"
The idea is to park on top of that oowah area and toggle in that narrow area for vocal sounds.
A wah like the Budda Budwah has a smooth sweep without the vocal area.
My BBE has the pronounced vocal thing like the Area 51, I dig it.
Anyway, the Area 51 may not be the wah for you, don't change the pot, get into a smooth wah and sell the Area 51.

I liked the stock A51, got a loaded one and couldn't dial it in. Sold it and bought a BBE for $99 new. I'm happy.

I have a hotpotz2 in my A51..Withit you can move the pot back a click and get a different sweep I guess due to the taper of the pot. Not sure that would work on the A51,I hear it is just basically an audio taper pot,or at the very least an older Teese designed Pot.Does your pot make an audible click sound when you sweep it?

I don't think I here a click, but I will check later today. Did your A51 come with the HotPotz2 ?
