I think they're fantastic......

Rock + glam cirque stage show... awesome.

Lucky dude too, how many guys have a wife who's the fire-breathing, acrobat, lead singer, of their band?

Cool!

I like his videos for the Fretted Americana vintage guitars; really entertaining and, of course, killer playing!

agreed on the Fretted Americana videos... they are better than his band IMO... :)

Great player and very entertaining = Phil X. His energy level is inspiring.

Hook Phil up to a transformer and you could probably power some 5000 L.A homes.

OH MY GOD....this is too funny!
Way back when, 2000 to be exact, my singer and I were at a local music convention in downtown LA. I got tons of cd's from all the other bands, but Powder was the only one that caught my ear. Didn't get a chance to see them live, we were all playing at various venues around LA. I lose track of the cd years ago but recently found it; once I heard the opening chords of the first song I knew it was the one I had been looking for. I swear, I was going to google Powder to see whatever happened to them.

Phil X is the guitarplayer for the band? Let me know when you're playing again, I'll definitely make the drive to LA to catch the show. That 4 song cd I have is great, only that one song from above is on it.

"I love you, I hate you then I love you ah-gain...." LOVE IT!

:agree Its something I'd like to see if I was in Vegas on vacation, the guy is a heck of a player and I dug the Video of him doing the AC/DC covers, but its not something I'd dig to listen to daily or even weekly on a CD. You can tell Phil is really enjoying himself though. That right there makes it more entertaining. This is more of a broadway kind of thing, a live experience . The You Tube Videos are the best of its kind on the Net. Fun and Honest.......and extremely entertaining.

Love Phil X's Fretted Americana videos - more riffs and licks than you can poke a stick at!!!!

From the sounds of it, like the Fretted Americana stuff much more than Powder. That's just how it goes sometimes

He's irritating. Those FA clips that he does make me think about Ritalin.

He's irritating.

I agree. Nothing is worse than someone playing their ass off AND having fun doing it

My comment wasn't about his meter.

Kerry, I know that you like what the guy does, but he doesn't do anything for me.

I'd definitely go see them. It looks like a lot of fun. Like the one woman said, tits, ass and crotch, coupled with killer guitar playing.....what's not to like?:D

A little bit of shtick maybe but a fine player nonetheless...

He just seems like a guy having a lot of fun playing a lot of cool vintage shit. I've heard a lot of people rip on Phil on various forums for being akin to your average GC brand wanker salesman. Last I heard, I think he was in like 3 bands and was doing professional studio sessions... sounds to me like somebody busting his ass doing what he loves to do (and having what appears to be a great time doing it).

not sure if this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_X) is up to date

Well, if being motivated, enthusiastic and successful means you're a candidate for ritalin then I'm in.

I suppose they could have did a bunch of boring takes, but I like the honesty and energy of a guy with a 1 guitar just playing his ass off. That guy is a PLAYA!! :boxer

Try it, what have you got to lose?

Fellas, this isn't a one size fits all world. Wouldn't it be nice if we all liked the same things? If you like him, his persona, what he does etc., so be it. Not everyone is going to like the things that you like, that's life.

Just asking why thats all.

That doesn't quite cover it for me. Your 100% entitled to your opinion. God knows I throw mine around here enough.......
But I always try to give a reason when I do.
