The amp is in great physical condition...but here's the kicker....it sounds AMAZING. I bought it with the intention of having it moded, but I may just keep it stock. It sounds MASSIVE boosted with my SD1 as a clean boost and great with no boost at all. Maybe it's the original German EL34's (RFT's?), but there is something special going on with this amp. The harsh high end that most JCM 800's have isn't here and it sounds thick as hell.

Nice. I recently picked up a Voodoo modded one. I was looking for a stock one, but sometime you have to go with your ear.

Great score!

I've owned an '82 2203 head + slant 4x12 since the mid 80's. It's my go-to. Superb amps. Tough as nails. Glorious rock tones.

Nice!, bet that sounds Killer with the two 800 G12-65 Rola loaded cabs! I had an`81 about a year ago. I wish I hadn't sold it! I sold it to fund buying a VooDoo modded `80 JMP 2204 but ended up hating it. The stock `81 JCM 800 2204 with a pedal sounded much better!

I have all sorts of interesting amps and FWIW, I still find myself plugging into my favorite stock 70's and 80's marshall heads........
