My favorite is the Joey B. Merlot.
I've had the L.I. Lol., but it was a little too tart.

Amy Fischer references are a little too obscure these days I think.

Lenz (Old Vines Merlot, as well and their standard Merlot and Cabarnet Sauvignon) and Castello di Borghese (both the Merlot and Cabarnet Sauvignon) are really good.

Here are the ones my wife & I have been to, and liked: Bidell, Raphael, Paumanok, Lenz, Pelligrini, Peconic Bay, Pindar, Pugliese, Corey Creek, Palmer, Laurel Lake. Many have free music on Sunday afternoons. I'm not sure how far into the fall that goes on, but I was out there last Sunday and many had signs advertising the Sunday afternoon music thing. These are usually nice: winery provides picnic tables, sometimes a patio, and they don't even care if you bring food from the outside. Although I like beer we always buy at least 1 bottle of wine for our table to be nice. I've even brought other stuff (like beer, which the wineries can't sell), from the outside without any problems. LI's north fork is a lot less commercial than the south fork, and the locals are tyring to keep it that way. Once you're on the main road out there, you'll see signs everywhere. Thanks for the tips so far. I tried an upstate red once, and it was not very good http://www.axehouseconsortium.org/forum/images/smilies/raymond.gif (but the white and dessert wines tend to be pretty good).
Looking forward to checking out the LI wineries.
