I went to the Bev'mo Holiday Beerfest in San Francisco last weekend. 120 beers on tap. Yeah, it was as good as it sounds. These were my favorites. Let's see what yours are in case I missed some. :drink
Anchor Steam 2009 Holiday was my favorite. This is the label for 2007. They change the recipe every season.

Sam Adams Winter Lager
Well balanced and robust flavor but surprisingly light. It's just a good, good beer.

Gouden Carolus
It's my favorite Belgian. Amazing. Don't diet. Try it.

Sam Adams Old Fezziwig Ale
What can I say? It was a better balanced ale than the majority of the microbrews and I tried all of the Winter offerings from EVERY brewer at the Beerfest. Sam Adams may not be a hit with beer snobs but that doesn't mean it's not good.

Plenty of beer snobs respect and enjoy Sam Adams products. I have a feeling that the ones who don't just don't like that the brand has become commercially successful.

Beer snobs are idiots. Ive been brewing beer for about 10 years as a hobby and Ive tried tons of different beers and I still like Sam Adams beers. One of my favorite homebrews is a SA Boston Ale clone I make. Its one thing to not like a beer because you don't like how it tastes but to dismiss a beer on principle is pretty lame. If you like a beer then it is, in fact, good...That goes for Budwiper or Chimay.

I remember Anderson Valley's Winter Solstice being really good.
Bridgeport Brewery, Portland, OR Ebenezer Ale. Some bottles have the "Bah Humbug" Scrooge and some have the "God Bless everyone, Tiny Tim" Scrooge labels.

Here in Denmark they drink something called Glogg during the holiday season. (pronounced "glook") It's served hot....kind of a cider/redwine concoction, with almond slivers and raisins in it. It hits the spot on a cold/windy/wet evening....and trust me, there's no shortage of those here.

Mulled wine, mmm.
Here's a sort of holidayesque cocktail recipe for you, I call a Poison Apple. Mix equal parts green apple pucker, butterscotch schnapps, and Captain Morgan (or some other spiced rum). Very sweet and smooth, but tasty! I came up with this when I encountered a bartender mixing the apple and butterscotch and calling it a Caramel Apple. I thought it tasted insipid and wasn't near sweet enough, hence the rum, which adds both complexity and alcohol.
Homemade eggnog is also good.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale...Usually a great IPA.
I look forward to this one every year.
I'm also a beer snob who likes most Sam Adams beers. They have a few clunkers (as do most micros) but their Lager and Ale are quality brews. I think their Cream Stout, Winter, Oktoberfest, Imperial Pilsner, Double Bock, Fezziwig and Holiday Porter are fantastic.

Another vote for Golden Carolus Noel. That beer is phenomenal!
Delireum Noel was overly spiced last year IMO, haven't tried this year's offing.
Corsendonk Noel is usually very good too...

Yes. Carolous Noel is amazing. Delirium I didn't like last year either but that was the first year I had it. I'll have to give it another try. Haven't had the Corsedonk Noel yet...

The Jubelale and Brrrrrr are very good but I definitely liked the Anchors more at the show. It just seemed more balanced and complex to me. All of the ingredients fit perfectly together with the Anchor. It doesn't surprise me that Anchor was the first Holiday beer on the U.S. market back in 1975. They have been tweaking this recipe since then and it shows.

Looks delicious. I'm going to do a tour next season around the U.S. Just too many great beers out there that never make it to bigger markets..
