View Full Version : Do you think NASCAR would be more fun to watch if it was like Destruction Derby?

If you remember the old Playstation game you'll know what I'm talking about.

Race the cars as normal but give drivers extra points for wiping out other drivers. The more spins flips or turns your opponent's car makes, the more points you get.

Now that's a sport!

My suggestions.

1. Halfway through each oval race, have a 15 minute halftime, then restart in the opposite direction.

2. 10 races per year on dirt tracks.

3. 1 race per year on a firgure-8 track.

4. Scantily clad cheerleaders.

How 'bout only half the field? :)

You can do that anytime on I-10 West out of Houston.

I only watch it for the crashes and the last two laps. :drink

So you're saying we could save a lot of time and fuel if we just had two laps and random pop-up walls on the track? Motorific! :)

...Boy, we could do the whole season in a long weekend. Hm...

This is a trick question.....right?

I like the figure-8 track idea so long as it's done "Hot-Wheels-style" with a ramp at one of the junctions.

Yes. Might I suggest "Super Speedway Figure-Eights" (no restrictor plates)?

I would say you are not in the minority on this! :D

I think obstacles of most styles would really make things a lot more exciting.

Better yet... half the field go clockwise, the other half counter clockwise.
