Blackheart Handsome devil re-tube?

I just ordered a Handsome Devil, gotta a killer deal on it. I'm expecting I'll have to re-tube it, not sure what they come with. What are you guys putting in it that have one? I'm not sure if I'll use the amps drive or let it break up and use a pedal for my distorted tones. I'd like to get some hendrix style up to some Joe Perry, while still keeping decent cleans for jazz.

For power tubes I'm using JJs. They're cheap and sound decent. For preamp tubes I usually use EHs. Just about any decent preamp tube should work fine in the Handsome Devil. Overdrive pedals really work good with these amps but I do usually have the drive at about half for a bit of an edge.

Are the EL 84 Groove Tubes and JJ's the exact same tube?
